Its still not great, but g-sync didnt work properly in CS:GO either. Most games feel ultra smooth after 160fps but CSGO never engaged g-sync properly for me. Yeah that fps graph with nv limiter and with ingame limiter is like a saw blade, outrageously bad. CSGOs frame limiter was the same but at least the NV limit in it is rock solid.
Capping your framerate will decrease frametimes, so you will have the smoothest experience capping it 2 frames below your max refresh rate. This will cause and increase to input lag though (marginal). Having the framerate uncapped will give you the lowest input lag. I recommend running uncapped and run RTSS to make sure you have low consistent
// Cap FPS in game and on menu. // You can cap at 58 in game, but no lower unfortunately. // You will need to use a program like Dxtory to cap lower. // Menu FPS can be capped lower, but will cause mouse issues. fps_max 61 fps_max_menu 61 // These apparently effects performance, but not confirmed. r_drawtracers_firstperson 0 r_eyegloss 0 r
